Why you should add authorized users on Capital One Venture X
the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card shook up the premium rewards credit card market with its launch in November 2021, offering traditional cards like American Express Platinum® Card and Reserve Chase Sapphire® a race for their money.
While Venture X’s $395 annual fee is still something to consider, it’s much lower than what Capital One’s competitors charge. Not only are the card’s perks competitive, many of them even extend to authorized user — and cardholders can add up to four authorized users at no additional charge.
Let’s look at all the benefits that additional Venture X card users will enjoy. In particular, we’ll highlight the growing number of lounges that you and those traveling with you can visit together without any additional out-of-pocket costs.
Overview of joint venture X
Before diving in, let’s review the details X joint venture card.
Venture X cardholders receive:
- Sign up bonus: Earn 75,000 bonus Capital One Mile after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first three months of opening the account.
- Income rate: Earn 10 miles per dollar spent on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel5 miles per dollar spent on flights and vacation rentals booked through Capital One Travel and 2 miles per dollar spent on all other purchases.
- Annual Credit: Receive a $300 annual credit when you book travel with Venture X through Capital One Travel.
- Anniversary Bonus: Earn 10,000 bonus miles every account anniversary.
- Capital One Lounge access: Get unlimited access to Capital One Lounge for you and two guests (each guest will then cost $45).
- Priority Pass Members: Enjoy access to over 1,300 Priority card worldwide lounges for you and up to two guests traveling with you.
- Access to the Plaza Premium lounge (ends March 1, 2025)
- Global Entry or TSA PreCheck refund: Receive up to $120 statement credit every four years for the trusted traveler program.

Which Venture X benefits apply to additional cardholders?
While Venture That’s a huge number considering Amex Platinum Card charges $195 per authorized user (see exchange rates and fees) and Chase Sapphire Sanctuary charges $75 per authorized user.
This makes the Venture X a much more affordable option for couples and families, along with many perks for authorized users.

Access to airport lounges
Capital One’s flagship lounge at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) opened at the end of 2021 and since then, they opened a second lounge at Dulles International Airport (IAD) and the third lounge at Denver International Airport (DEN) as well as the unique idea of ”landing” in Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) of Washington, DC. The amenities — like Peloton bikes and locally sourced fine dining — are outstanding.
Additional concourses are being built at New York’s Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), while an additional airport is expected to open at New York Airport. New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA). However, there is no fixed opening date for these locations yet.
While there are currently only three Capital One Lounges open, Venture X cardholders also get one for free Priority Pass lounge membership (with the ability to bring up to two guests with you) and Access to more than 100 Plaza Premium lounges (with the ability to bring up to two guests at no additional charge).
However, what makes Venture So you can add four free authorized users to your card and each can visit all the lounges named above while also bringing in guests.
If you have a large family, this benefit can be invaluable. Just know that there must be an adult accompanying guests under 18 years old.

Let’s say you’re open X joint venture and then add four additional users. Each of your authorized users will be able to enter Capital One and access Plaza Premium lounges with two guests each. Add it all together – five cardholders plus two guests each – and you can put a total of 15 travelers in an airport lounge (one of those people is you).
And the policy for Venture X cardholders is even better at Priority Pass lounges: Unlimited guests – not bad for a credit card.
Just note that the exact process for entering these lounges varies:
- Capital One Lounge: Present your Venture X card and eligible boarding pass for the day for entry.
- Priority Pass Lounge: Sign up for a free Priority Pass membership at this link Use your Venture X details. Then, present your Priority Pass card and boarding pass eligible for the day to enter.
This applies to both the primary cardholder and authorized users on the card.
Hertz President’s Circle elite status is free
Hertz’s partnership with Capital One provides free sponsorship Elite status of the Hertz President’s Circle for primary cardholders and authorized Venture and a dedicated customer service line.
Eligible cardholders must register through the Capital One website or mobile app. Cardholders can find the link to sign up by visiting the “Rewards” tab or “Capital One Travel Benefits” tab of their eligible card and clicking on the Hertz benefits box. The primary cardholder must register as an authorized user through the same process.
You can also accrue this benefit with the ability to earn extra miles on car rental bookings made with Capital One Travel. You can get yours Hertz perks and earn 10 miles per dollar spent on rentals booked with Capital One Travel, which is not a stacking combination available with other cards, portals or rental agencies. This way, you are guaranteed the best of both worlds.
Purchase and travel protection
the Capital One X joint venture As a Visa Infinite card, it has some important travel and purchase protections that both the primary cardholder and authorized user(s) can rely on:
- Trip cancellation and trip interruption insurance: Up to $2,000 per person for prepaid, non-refundable tickets for you and immediate family members.
- Trip delay refund: Up to $500 per person for reasonable expenses such as hotel rooms, food, toiletries or clothing when your flight is delayed overnight or by six hours or more.
- Return lost luggage: Up to $3,000 per trip is covered if the airline damages or loses your luggage.
- Protect your cell phone: Coverage is up to $800 per claim with a maximum of two claims and $1,600 per 12-month period. A $50 deductible applies per occurrence.
- Primary rental car insurance: Up to $75,000 for damage caused by collision or theft of a rental car.
- Purchase, extended warranty and return protection: Up to 10,000 USD per request and 50,000 USD per account on purchases; extended warranty for one year; up to $300 back per item and $1,000 back per account.
What benefits do Venture X authorized users share?
Authorized users on Venture X do not receive their own $300 annual credit or other Global Entry or TSA PreCheck application fee credits. Each of these is limited to a single credit per account. That means these credits will apply to qualifying charges made with additional cards in the account, but they will count toward the primary cardholder’s benefit.
Likewise, only primary cardholders receive the 10,000-mile anniversary bonus.
That said, authorized users’ spending will increase Capital One miles at the same rate as the primary card, and their purchases will count toward the card’s minimum spending requirement to earn rewards. introduce. How to add authorized users to your Venture X
Once you decide to add authorized users to your Venture X, go to your Capital One account and look for the “I want” button on the right side of the screen. Then, click “Add Account User.”
