World of Hyatt’s Find Experiences: How to earn and burn Hyatt points

I recently had the opportunity to attend a five-course dinner at the Thompson Denver hotel, part of the Hyatt brand’s A Taste of Thompson: Chef Series. This is one of many activities available through Find, Hyatt’s experience platform, where World of Hyatt Members can earn and burn points.

Here’s everything you need to know about Find, what my experience was like, and why I think Find is worth considering when planning your next trip.

What is the Find Experience Platform?

According to Hyatt’s website, “FIND is a marketplace that provides access to carefully curated wellness experiences to help inspire people to be their best selves.” There are currently over 500 experiences in over 75 destinations available on Find the website.

If you’re planning a trip (or looking for something fun to do at home), you can search by country or state to see what’s on offer in your destination. You can also search by category (arts, culture & community, discovery and recovery), or you can enter keywords to narrow your search.

Unlike some hotel experience platforms that focus on shows or sporting events, Find’s selection will be diverse. Of course, your options will depend on where you go — and big cities seem to have the best options. Prices also vary greatly.

Some examples include a beer tasting in Prague ($33 or 2,377 World of Hyatt points), a snorkeling tour in Honolulu ($184 or 13,148 points), and a half-day tour of Marrakech ($349 or 24,960 points) .

You can also find tickets to shows and museums, allowing you to earn and score Hyatt points for things you may have already planned. For example, a ticket to the Nashville Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum costs $31 or 2,225 points, or you can see “Aladdin” on Broadway for $110 or 7,849 points.

Some experiences are “curated” by Hyatt hotels, but generally you don’t have to stay at the hotel to book an experience. The exception is for experiences that explicitly include a hotel stay, such as a “Wicked”-themed night at Andaz Munich Schwabinger Tor ($475 or 33,955 points).

My World of Hyatt Find experiences

A Taste of Thompson: Chef Series is part of a larger Chef Series event available on Find as part of a larger package, which includes tickets for two to dinner, meet and greets with the chef, drink time pre-dinner cocktails and a night’s stay at a hotel – in my case, it was the Thompson Denver.

My experience also included several gifts waiting for me in the room: a signed copy of the chef’s recipe book, a box of three of his favorite spice blends, a bottle of Thompson water, sparkling wine and iced mineral water, and house-made ganache. bite (made vegan especially for me).

The ganache pieces are as delicious as they look.

The five-course meal is equally delicious. Although the Find website states “no substitutions are offered” for guests with dietary restrictions or food allergies, the chef happily accommodated my vegan diet – and it was one of Best meal I’ve ever had. Not only does it taste delicious, but it’s also high in protein and filling (a combination that’s hard to find in vegan restaurant dishes).

My omnivorous companions also seemed to enjoy their standard menu. Everyone – from my husband, who will eat anything, to seasoned food writers – seemed impressed with the food.

This dinner at Thompson Denver is a one-time event, but the Chef Series will continue with similar events at California’s Thompson Palm Springs in January and Cape Hotel, a Thompson Hotel in Mexico in February. If you wish to attend and have special dietary needs, I recommend contacting the hotel to see if they can accommodate you before booking as this Find experience is non-refundable.

The Thompson Denver Find package costs $832 or 59,428 World of Hyatt points. However, you can also purchase dinner-only tickets through Thompson’s website for $135 per person or $195 with wine. This includes welcome cocktail hour and one of the chef’s signature spice blends but does not include other items included in the Find package.

I enjoyed my Find experience but I wish I only had tickets through Find. The same goes for Thompson Denver’s other events, including chocolate-making workshops, holiday drag shows, and New Year’s Day pajama brunches – none of which are currently available available through Find.

The more options Hyatt adds to the Find platform, the better because Find is a useful tool for Hyatt loyalists like me. Here’s why.

If you redeem World of Hyatt points for Find experiences, in most cases you’ll receive a value of about 1.4 cents per point. This is lower than TPG’s December 2024 figure valuation each point is 1.7 cents for World of Hyatt points, but redeeming experience points isn’t too bad.

I keep Chase Sapphire Preferred® CardThis allows me to exchange gifts Chasing the ultimate reward points for passing activities Chase Travel℠ Portal at a rate of 1.25 cents each. Or I can book activities with Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card; If they code as travel, I can use it Capital One Mile to reimburse me at the rate of 1 cent each. The Find platform offers better value than either of these options.

If you’re eyeing a Find experience that could be prohibitively expensive or you’re determined to plan your entire vacation around points and miles, this is a solid choice. However, maybe you can Get more value from your Hyatt points by exchanging them for stays at Hyatt hotels, especially at luxury hotels or during peak days.

If you want to save your score for more desire for redemptionyou have the option to book Find Activities for cash and earn Hyatt points. In fact, World of Hyatt members earn 10 points for every qualifying dollar spent on Find – double what you’d earn at Hyatt as a basic member. You’ll earn even more points if you keep Hyatt’s elite status or pay with a Hyatt credit card, up to 17 points per dollar. Additionally, points earned through Find are included Hyatt’s elite status.

Find activities that are different from other hotel platforms, like Hilton Honors Experience And Marriott Bonvoy moments. These require you to bid points for experiences, so you never know exactly how many points you’ll need to spend – or even whether you’ll get the experience at all. And with most hotel platforms, you don’t have the option to pay with cash and earn rewards points.

Hyatt’s flat rates make it easier to plan your vacation, and I appreciate that you can choose between earning or burning points here. If an inexpensive activity catches my attention, I will probably buy it Hyatt World Credit Card to increase my Hyatt account balance. If I find something more expensive, like a Thompson Denver Chef Series and hotel combo, I’ll consider redeeming points for that instead.

You can also give the gift of Find Experience to your family and friends, a great choice if you are looking for one Unique gift idea for relatives who have difficulty shopping. And in 2023, Hyatt introduced a new feature: Select Find experiences are now sold for points in an auction, more in line with other hotel platforms.

Bottom line

As a Hyatt loyalist, I think the Find platform is an interesting and valuable tool. Activities are always a big part of my vacation plans, and I’m glad to have a way to redeem points for them or earn at least 10 points per dollar on them. If other Find experiences are as high quality as the one I recently attended, they will be great value.
