Wyndham Diamond Status: How and Why to Get It
Wyndham Diamond status offers valuable perks when staying at Wyndham. Even if you don’t regularly stay at Wyndham hotels and resorts, you can still benefit from Wyndham Diamond status—especially since you can easily earn through two different avenues. Here’s what you need to know.
Perks of Wyndham status
Some customer loyalty program offers generous perks to elite members, while others offer minimal perks. Wyndham Rewards typically fall into the latter category, offering only modest perks even for members with the highest Diamond status. But here’s an overview of the featured perks at each Wyndham elite status level:
- Blue (no nights required per calendar year): Free Wi-Fi during stay
- Yellow (typically required 5 nights per calendar year): 10% bonus points on stays, preferred room in same category upon request (subject to availability), and late check-out upon request (subject to availability Have)
- Platinum (typically requires 15 nights per calendar year): 15% bonus points on stay, matching Caesars Rewards status, and early check-in upon request (subject to availability)
- Diamond (typically requires 40 nights per calendar year): 20% bonus points on stays, free snack or drink at check-in at select hotels, and suite upgrades upon request (subject to availability upon check-in)
Despite the limited elite perks, it can still be worth earning Wyndham status. I appreciate having the Wyndham Diamond designation because even though Caesars temporarily halts its merriment with Wyndham in 2022, Platinum membership or higher is still possible the match earned Wyndham Rewards status for Caesars Rewards. Caesars Platinum status will get you Free parking in Las Vegas; Caesars Diamond status helps you Free vacation at Caesars Rewards hotels and resorts and a free stay at Atlantis paradise island in the Bahamas.

Wyndham Rewards counts most paid nights and award nights as qualifying. So you can even redeem Wyndham points to get qualifying nights toward your status challenge. However, you cannot use Wyndham status obtained through a status match or challenge to match status in the Caesars Rewards program.

Earn Wyndham status via credit card
Some Wyndham credit card offers elite status as a perk for as long as you’re a cardholder. Status is earned through having a Wyndham credit card that is eligible to be matched with Caesars Rewards. So here’s a look at the Wyndham status you can earn through the Wyndham credit card:
- Wyndham Rewards Earner® Card: Primary cardholders automatically receive Wyndham Rewards Gold status within two to eight weeks of opening this no-annual-fee card.
- Wyndham Rewards Earner® Plus Card: Primary cardholders automatically receive Wyndham Rewards Platinum status within two to eight weeks of opening this $75 annual fee card.
- Wyndham Rewards Earner® business card: Primary cardholders automatically receive Wyndham Rewards Diamond status within two to eight weeks of opening this $95 annual fee card.
Information about Wyndham Earner, Wyndham Earner Plus and Wyndham Earner Business cards has been independently collected by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
If you value earning Wyndham Diamond status but don’t stay at Wyndham hotels 40 nights a year, the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Card is a great choice. It has a $95 annual fee, but the 15,000 bonus points you receive each year after your card account’s anniversary month provide enough value to offset this annual fee. Cardholders also redeem 10% less Wyndham Rewards points for Go Free rewards, which means your points are worth even more.
As mentioned above, you can combine elite status earned through a Wyndham credit card with Caesars Rewards. I recently matched my Wyndham Diamond status – which I received as the primary cardholder of the Wyndham Earner Business Card – with Caesars. Even though the match lasts about a month, I will now enjoy free parking at most Caesars properties, a free stay at the Atlantis later this year, and free resort fees at Caesars properties.

Bottom line
Wyndham Rewards status obtained through a status match is not eligible for matching with Caesars Rewards. But you can compare Wyndham status earned through stays or the Wyndham Rewards credit card with Caesars Rewards. If you value Caesars Diamond perks, a 10% redemption discount on Go Free awards and a 20% earnings bonus on stays at Wyndham hotels, you can get and keep the Business Card for Wyndham earners to maintain Wyndham Diamond status.
