Working Cat is based on the illustrator’s artwork Kumamineusing the popularity of previous memes such as Denwa Neko (Phone Cat) and Genba Neko (Construction Site Cat). These cats often strike strange poses and work well as Internet memes. For example, Genba Neko is a cat who wears a construction helmet and performs safety checks.
