Young thug accepts plea deal in his YSL Rico trial (Update)

According to WSB-TVThe ‘Ski’ rapper — legal name Jeffrey Williams — accepted a non-negotiable plea deal. On Thursday, he pleaded guilty to six counts of gang-related activity and pled no contest to one count of leadership of a criminal street gang and one count of conspiracy to violate the RICO statute. The state recommended a 45-year sentence with 25 years in custody and 20 years of probation. Ultimately, the final sentencing decision is up to the judge.

The New York Times reported that Thugger had rejected a previous offer from the prosecution that involved 15 years of probation but with special conditions such as a requirement that Jeffrey “take ownership and responsibility of being the leader of YSL” . His attorney, Brian Steel, said the trial is holding Young Thug “hostage” and that is why he chose to take the plea deal. Additionally, Steel said the Atlanta government has “tunnel vision” for its customers.

Steel added: “His entire being is trying to break the chains of poverty of others, and it has been unleashed in this courtroom with false statements and accusations against Mr. anytime, anywhere”.

Young Thug is now one of several defendants Atlanta investigators charged with similar crimes to accept a plea deal. That list of defendants includes his fellow rapper, Gunna. In December 2022, Gunna accept the Alford plea agreementcaused a stir on social networks and sparked rumors of “bullying” his brother.

However, it has been a week of acceptance And denied the defendants’ pleas in connection with the RICO trial. The defendant has a name Nichols Quamarvious accepted plea deal on Tuesday (October 29), pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to violate the RICO Act, according to WSB-TV. Although he was sentenced to 20 years in prison, he is expected to serve only seven years in prison. The next day, another defendant with similar charges, Rodalius Ryanalso accepted a plea agreement.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, Yak Gotti’s lawyer said he intends to fight the charges before a jury. Gotti, whose real name is Deamonte Kendrick, looking forward to going home with a not guilty verdict.

On Thursday, October 31, Superior Court Judge Paige Reese Whitaker imposed Young Thug’s sentence. The judge sentenced him to 40 years in prison for the first five in prison, reducing time already served.
