Young Thug and YSL Trial Postponed as Judge Considers Denial of Calls

Oh my gosh! Roommates, there have been so many changes and upheavals in The Little GangsterYSL trial, and the latest involving a Fulton County judge! Ural Glanville is said to be considering whether he should recuse himself from the trial.

Based on WSB TVThe trial of Thugger and his co-defendants is currently on hold in a development announced on Monday (July 1). Specifically, Thug’s lawyers have filed a motion asking the judge presiding over YSL to resign.

What will be the future of the YSL trial judge?

Thugger’s move comes about two weeks after Judge Glanville ordered one of Young Thug’s attorneys, Brian Steel, to be jailed. At the time, the judge despise Steele after his lawyer accused him of having an “ex-parte meeting” without him present. The arrest came after Brian refused to reveal his source.

Now, the stay is due to complaints Steele filed with the court about the meeting the judge allegedly excluded him from. As for next steps, the judge is waiting for another judge to review the petition. It’s unclear when that will happen or if another judge has reviewed the petition, according to WSB-TV.

There was a recent setback in Young Thug’s trial.

The YSL trial judge’s decision is another setback in the Young Thug trial. The jury selection set a state record, took 10 months to complete. The opening statement begins in November.

Progress, however, has been slow. Thug and several other defendants accused of being involved with YSL appear to still be unsure whether they will be going home free or facing jail time this year.

Thugger, whose legal name is Jeffrey Lamar Williams, is charged with conspiracy to violate RICO laws, as prosecutors argue that YSL stands for a street gang called Young Slime Life. In addition to the conspiracy charges, he is charged with drug and weapons possession, multiple employment-related offenses and participating in a criminal street gang, according to Vulture.
