Zelda: The Afterlife of Echoes Of Wisdom appears to include links to the past
When The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom was initially revealed, there was a bit Speculation about the new underground world and how it is possible link upward with the maps in the previous sections. Now, just a week after the release of the latest entry, this appears to have been confirmed.
As highlighted by Zelda enthusiasts on social media and elsewhere online, it appears that the new adventure actually has some connections to the classic Super Nintendo game A link to the past. This isn’t a coincidence either, with many landmarks clearly lining up with the older game’s map.
IGN apparently called on his in-house Zelda expert and critic, Tom Marks – to confirm various landmarks such as “the graveyard and the church” are also in the correct location and the house where Link lives in A Link to the Past is also there, even though he resides in Suthorn Village in the latest top-down entry.
Some theories (as you can see in the social post below) also suggest that Goron, Gerudo, Zora, and Deku may have lived in this same world, but it was not accessible in A Link to the Past .
There are all sorts of other similarities between the two games, which would seem to confirm the connection. These connections also seem to be fueling speculation about Zelda’s timeline as well as how it fits in with A Link to the Past and A link between worlds.
