Path of Exile 2 coming to PS5, co-op and cross-play confirmed – PlayStation.Blog
Path of Exile 2, the next generation free-to-play action RPG from Grinding Gear Games, is coming to PlayStation 5and now there’s a great new feature, couch co-op.
Path of Exile has always been a great game to play with your friends, but until now, you needed multiple devices to play it. However, for Path of Exile 2, we really wanted to bring back the experience of playing together on the couch.
Players can play cooperatively on one account or log in with two separate Path of Exile accounts on the same console.
Additionally, Path of Exile 2 introduces cross-play and full cross-progression. Play with friends without losing any progress!
main function
Twelve character classes
Path of Exile 2 features 12 character classes, two for each combination of Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence. While each class variation focuses on a different playstyle, they’re just a starting point. You can combine skills from multiple classes together to create your ideal character.
Each of the twelve character classes has three unique Ascension specializations, resulting in a total of 36 Ascension Classes to choose from.
New skill gem system
Path of Exile 2 has 240 Skill Gems that grant destructive active skills and 200 Support Gems that help modify their behavior. Earn Gems as you play in the Campaign and combine them together to create your perfect build.
This is the next generation of Path of Exile’s famous skill system. Support Gems are now tied directly to Skill Gems, eliminating many of the drawbacks present in the old system while maintaining all of the previous depth. You can now link six skills your character uses.
Dual Specialization Your passive skill tree
Path of Exile’s iconic passive skill tree is back, with 1,500 skills allowing you to fully customize your gameplay experience. It now features Dual Specialization, the ability to allocate a number of passive skill points to two different skill sets. They engage whenever the appropriate weapon or skill type is used. For example, you can allocate some points to both daggers and traps, or ice and lightning, and when you swap between attacks, the appropriate skill points will be applied. This allows you to specialize in multiple areas without incurring opportunity costs.
Discover brand new items
Path of Exile 2 has 700 types of equipment bases and each has its own unique items that you can find. You can enhance your arsenal with new weapons like the Spear, Crossbow, and Mace, as well as additional items like the redesigned Focus, Trap, and Scepter.
Encounter unique bosses
In Path of Exile 2, every Campaign area has a boss encounter. There are over a hundred bosses to fight as you take on the Actions, and they all have unique mechanics to learn.
Discover a new ending
At the end of Path of Exile 2’s six-act campaign, you’ll gain access to its finale. Each of the 100+ ending maps has its own boss encounter! We’ll reveal more details about the surprises that await you in Path of Exile 2’s finale before release.
Fairplay. Never pay to win
Path of Exile 2 is a separate game from the original Path of Exile. We will continue to provide expansions for both games in the future. They are completely free to play and will never be “pay to win”. Purchases are shared between the two games.
