Julian Assange’s decade of detention

Julian Assange has left the UK after more than a decade of isolation.

The founder of Wikileaks spent 5 years in prison and spent the previous 7 years detained in the Ecuadorian embassy.

Mr Assange signed a plea deal with the US to allow him to be released after being charged with conspiring to obtain and disclose defense information – after Wikileaks published secret US military records.
