Kylian Mbappé urges young people to vote to fight ‘extremists’

The captain of the French national football team, Kylian Mbappé, has urged young people to vote in the upcoming French elections.

Speaking before France’s Euro 2024 opening match, Mbappé warned that “extremists are at the threshold of power” and said he wanted to be proud to wear the shirt of his country.

His comments came after French President Emmanuel Macron called for an early election earlier this month, following the big victory of his right-wing rival Marine Le Pen in the European elections.
