American Express Business Platinum® CardAlthough the annual fee is $695 (see exchange rates and fees), frequently ranked as one of the best business card thanks to its outstanding tourism benefits.

It also offers a welcome bonus of 150,000 Member Rewards® points after you spend $20,000 on qualifying purchases in the first three months of card membership — worth up to $3,000, according to Latest valuation of TPG.

But the card also offers a range of perks that may not be familiar to cardholders or people are considering getting a card. Below is a list of some of the card’s best benefits, including ones you might not have noticed before.

Little-known benefits of the card

Now that we’ve got the most prominent travel benefits out of the way, let’s dig into the actual perks that cardholders may not take advantage of or even know they have:

Trip cancellation and interruption insurance*: If you booked a round-trip flight using your qualifying card and the flight is canceled for a “covered reason” — including inclement weather, acts of terrorism, jury duty requirements , sudden illness or injury to you or a qualified traveler or physician- intentional quarantine — you may be reimbursed for non-refundable travel expenses up to $10,000 per trip, in Maximum funds up to $20,000 per qualifying account per consecutive 12-month period.

Trip delay insurance*: The card’s travel delay protection covers round-trip flights purchased entirely with the eligible card. (This includes using the card to pay taxes and fees on award tickets or Pay with points ticket.) If your trip is delayed more than six hours for a covered reason, this perk will reimburse unexpected expenses—such as meals, lodging, and personal items—up to $500 per trip and up to two claims per card per consecutive period 12 months.

Lost or Stolen Baggage Insurance**: Like many other travel cards, this card offers insurance for lost or stolen bag. When you use your card to purchase a full fare on a common carrier, Insurance is provided up to USD 2,000 for checked baggage and up to USD 3,000 for checked baggage and carry-on baggage per person. For New York State residents, there is a limit of $2,000 per bag/suitcase per insured person and a total maximum of $10,000 for everyone per trip.

Insurance for loss and damage when renting a car: This is secondary rental insurance and not insurance Primary insurance provided by other cards such as Chase Sapphire Sanctuarybut you will be compensated up to $75,000 for damage or theft.

Purchase Protection**: This Benefits are often overlooked provides cardholders with coverage for up to 90 days from date of purchase If an item is stolen or accidentally damagedetc. Coverage is limited to a maximum of $10,000 per incident and up to $50,000 per account per calendar year to repair, replace or reimburse you for the item.

Warranty extension**: This benefit adds an additional year to the original manufacturer’s warranty of 5 years or less. Coverage is up to $10,000 per item and $50,000 per account per calendar year.

Return protection: The return protection policy provides cardholders with a refund when the merchant does not return an eligible item within 90 days of purchase. This benefit applies to qualifying purchases charged in full to your card up to $300 per item and up to a maximum of $1,000 per account per calendar year, based on purchase date.

Time-based payment features: This is especially convenient for small business owners whose cash flow can sometimes be irregular. If eligible, cardholders can apply for and pay off certain purchases over time, although they will accrue interest on the balance, as with a credit card.

Tour guide: Cardholders have access to one Special telephone service can assist with tasks such as restaurant and event reservations or on-demand deliveries. You must call to activate this benefit, but you can also Sign up for texting for more convenience.

Priority seating program: Thanks to the Amex connection, its premium cardholders have access to premium seats for cultural and sporting events subject to availability.

Premium private jet program: Cardholders purchasing the Delta Private Jets Card (now part of Wheel up) enjoy a 20% discount off published fares for select fare classes valid at time of booking.

Connect to QuickBooks: Amex business cardholders receive this perk, which automatically records their linked card transactions to their Quickbooks account on a daily basis, making it much easier to track purchases and expenses .

In circle: This is Neiman Marcus’s loyalty program. When you sign up for your Business Platinum Card with InCircle, you’ll earn 1 point for every dollar of qualifying purchases charged to your card at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Last Call, Horchow or Cusp. For every 10,000 points you earn, you’ll receive a $100 InCircle Points Card. Points are not awarded for the costs of sales tax, shipping, alterations, gift packaging, fur services, repair and cleaning of shoes, handbags, optical jewelry, precious items, monograms, salon products and services as well as valet parking.

While the Business Platinum Card comes with many widely advertised perks, there are dozens of lesser-known benefits that can add tremendous value to the card if you maximize them.
