Here’s our list of some noteworthy new points and miles promotions for May.

Airline loyalty program promotions (May 2024)

Airline loyalty programs can offer trip discounts on certain dates, the chance to earn more miles for future travel and deals to rack up points toward elite status. Below are some of the offers we’ve found for this week.

Bonus when buying Air France-KLM Flying Blue miles

If you’re looking to top off your Air France-KLM Flying Blue account, you can get more miles for less when you buy miles with the loyalty program.

• Get a 70% bonus when you buy Air France-KLM Flying Blue miles.
• You must buy at least 2,000 miles to get the bonus.
• If you don’t have status within Flying Blue, you’re limited to purchasing 100,000 miles per year; elite members are limited to 210,000 bonus miles when using this deal.
• The promotion ends June 10.

Triple United MileagePlus miles for staying at IHG Hotels & Resorts

If you’re an IHG One Rewards member with a United MileagePlus account, you can register to earn triple United MileagePlus miles on qualifying stays at select IHG Hotels & Resorts.

• You must be an IHG One Rewards member and register for the promotion to earn bonus United miles on your eligible hotel stay.
• If you opt to earn United MileagePlus miles on your stay with this deal, you will not earn IHG One Rewards points for the same stay.
• Book by June 30. Stay by Aug. 31.

Hotel loyalty program promotions (May 2024)

Hotel loyalty programs occasionally offer discounted stays, ways to earn extra points and deals at various properties. We collected some of this month’s active deals below.

Discount on last-minute Marriott bookings

Marriott Bonvoy often rolls out deals to save on last-minute bookings, and this week is no exception. If you book by Sunday, you can get up to 20% off your rate as a Marriott Bonvoy member.

• Use promo code “QRI” to save 20% on your booking. Non-members get 15% off.
• Some of the properties that are part of this promotion include the JW Marriott Charlotte; the San Francisco Marriott Marquis; the Beaver Creek Lodge, Autograph Collection in Colorado; and The Royal at Atlantis on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
• Five-day advance booking is required at a prepaid, nonrefundable rate, per the deal’s terms and conditions.
• To redeem this offer, you must book by Sunday and complete your stay between May 27 and June 16.

Last-minute deal for triple IHG One Rewards points and discount on select stays

IHG One Rewards is also offering a last-minute deal for members to get up to 20% off and earn triple rewards points on select reservations if they book by May 28.

• IHG One Rewards members earn up to 20% off (when combining the public offer of 15% off the hotel’s best flexible rate and 5% for an IHG One Rewards member who books directly through IHG) and get triple rewards points on stays at IHG hotels in Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau.
• Per the promotion’s terms and conditions, when you book with the “Book Now Pay Later” rate, you can change or cancel your reservation up to seven days before your trip. You won’t have to pay until your stay.
• You must book by May 28 and complete your stay by Sept. 30 to receive this offer.

Bonus Marriott Bonvoy points on stays in the US and Canada

There’s an easy way for Marriott Bonvoy members to stack up more points this summer. You can earn bonus points on any stay in the U.S. or Canada that’s at least two nights when you book with the offer’s promotion code.

• Use code “M41” when booking to receive 3,500 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points when you stay two or more nights at a property in the U.S. or Canada.
• The offer expires Aug. 9.

Wyndham bonus points offer this summer

Wyndham Rewards is also offering its members an opportunity to earn more points on their travel with the brand. The amount you earn depends on how many consecutive nights you stay.

• Earn 15,000 Wyndham Rewards bonus points for a stay of at least four consecutive nights at thousands of Wyndham hotels around the world. (Stays in China, including Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Mongolia, are not included in this deal.)
• You’ll get 12,500 bonus points if you stay three consecutive nights, and you’ll earn 7,500 bonus points for staying two consecutive nights.
• You can only earn up to 15,000 total Wyndham Rewards bonus points across one or two qualified stays with this offer, per the terms and conditions.
• You have to register for the deal and book by Aug. 31 to redeem this offer. Your stay must be completed by Sept. 3.

Discount on stays at participating Fairmont properties

Finally, if you’re looking to save money on a luxurious stay, Fairmont has an offer for you to leverage.

• Get up to 25% off when you book directly with Fairmont at one of many of Fairmont’s locations across the Americas.
• The discount rate varies across properties, so be sure to check out the listing for the location you’re looking to book to see what your savings could be with this deal.
• Properties you can book with this offer include the Claremont Hotel & Spa, A Fairmont Hotel in Berkeley, California; the Fairmont Copley Plaza in Boston; the Fairmont Orchid on the Big Island; the Fairmont Kea Lani on Maui; and the Fairmont Grand del Mar in San Diego.
• This deal is valid when you book by Sept. 15 for stays through Dec. 30.

Credit card promotions (May 2024)

Credit card issuers sometimes offer deals and discounts for certain cardholders on everything from airfare to restaurant dining. We rounded up some active credit card promotions now. (Some offers may be targeted.)

Targeted Chase Offer on RVshare

Seeking out adventure this summer? Those looking to explore the great outdoors with an eligible Chase credit card (we found this on the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card) may be targeted for a Chase Offer to get cash back on a purchase with RVshare, a rental marketplace for recreational vehicles.

• Earn 10% cash back when you make a purchase with RVshare.
• If you want to redeem this offer, you must make your purchase directly with RVshare. You cannot buy through a third-party service.
• Get up to $95 cash back.
• The deal expires June 15.

Targeted American Express Offer with WorldHotels

If you’re looking to get a deal on your next hotel stay, check your American Express card (we found this on the American Express® Gold Card). You could be targeted for an Amex Offer with select WorldHotels properties in the U.S. and internationally.

• Receive a one-time $150 statement credit by using your card to spend at least $750 on one or more safari reservation purchases with Micato Safaris.
• You must be enrolled in the offer to earn the statement credit.
• Book at the WorldHotels website to redeem.
• The offer expires July 19.

Targeted American Express Offer with Lotte New York Palace

Finally, if you’re dreaming of a luxurious trip to New York City, you may be able to get cash back through your American Express card when you enroll in an offer with Lotte New York Palace, a luxury hotel in the Big Apple.

• Get a one-time $175 statement credit by using your card to spend at least $750 on one or more purchases (including room rate and room charges) at Lotte New York Palace.
• Book through Lotte New York Palace’s website.
• The offer expires Nov. 22.

Ongoing travel deals

In addition to these new offers, there are many others from previous weeks that are still available. These include:

• Enroll in a Sixt rental car status match with multiple airline and hotel program partners.
• Enroll in an Air France-KLM Flying Blue status match opportunity if you are a United Kingdom resident. Successful enrollment in the status match is contingent upon submitting an application, proving equivalent elite status in one of 13 eligible airline loyalty programs and paying a fee determined by your status match level. • Earn bonus Wyndham Rewards points and save up to 25% on participating stays at a hotel or resort in Europe, the Middle East or Africa completed between July 1 and Sept. 30. Book by June 20.
• Earn Delta Medallion Qualification Dollars toward status when you book hotel stays, plan vacation rentals or set up car rentals from Delta Air Lines. Bookings must be made by June 24 to earn MQDs. Stays and rentals must be completed by Sept. 8.
• Get a 20% bonus when you purchase World of Hyatt points from now through July 1.
• Earn 10,000 bonus Best Western Rewards points when you register before your stay and book at least three nights (separate or consecutive). Complete your eligible nights by Sept. 2.
