NBA fans have debated, are debating, and will continue to debate LeBron James‘ legacy until the end of time. But after 22 years in the league, questions about his GOAT status, his Rings won or his points scored have become increasingly tiresome. It’s time for us to move on reality meat of the discussion.

By “real meat,” we are of course referring to hypothetical matchups between the Lakers’ power forward and the legend Pokémon (What else can we talk about? Basketball? Pfft), specifically how the NBA star will face off against Mewtwo in a one-on-one match at 21.

If you ask us, this seems like a pretty straightforward case, but perhaps Pokémon bias is skewing our perspective. We need input from someone on the other side of the discussion, like ESPN Stephen A Smith. That should do it, right?

Oh, that’s exactly what happened (thanks, GoNintendo). Latest episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show saw the sports analyst combine LeBron and Mewtwo — or “Mootoo,” as Stephen A says — thanks to a question sent in from a Twitter user @lm_Prexx. Furthermore, he thought carefully about it.

You’d be forgiven for thinking that such a hypothetical question would be little more than a joke in this context, but, credit where it’s due, Stephen A Smith tackles it with complete sincerity.

We won’t spoil his final answer here (you’ll have to watch the video above for that answer), but there’s something about hearing “oh, he’s shorter than LeBron, but he It’s heavier” makes us think deeper about this than we probably should.

Oh, and if you’re wondering if Stephen A’s analysis sounds like it came from the Pokédex, don’t worry, @TAHK0 Have you insured yet?
