They are at it again. Midori (みどり) is back with another potential Nintendo codename and it looks like it might be related Splatoon Franchising.

In a new post on X, Midori said: “There is a game project at Nintendo with the code name Spiral. Through researching the data I received last month, it is very likely that this is the code name for the next part in the Splatoon series”.

Obviously, we’ll reiterate this, as always, this should be considered a rumor, but my god, a new Splatoon game? Yes, count us in. It seems like it’s a given, right? This franchise is becoming more and more popular over time, so it would make sense for Nintendo to capitalize on this with its upcoming new console.

Midori also said that “Now I will be careful with Nintendo’s information, because I want to be a comfortable tree, with lots of sunlight”. So, in other words, probably don’t expect more leaks regarding Nintendo projects in the future. You know what The Big N is like.

Famous leaker Midori seems to have come up with it pyoro a recent cash grab, leaking details of unannounced game projects from multiple publishers, including Nintendo.

However, instead of outright hinting at upcoming announcements, Midori is focusing more on the project’s codename. So while we may be getting a look at potential games in development at Nintendo, we (and it seems Midori) can’t currently confirm what these games involve. what.

Take some of the latest codenames for example: Midori revealed that Nintendo is working on projects codenamed ‘Edward’ and ‘Anna’. With the former, they say this could be related to a new title in Zelda franchise, while the latter may be a sequel to Nintendo Switch sports. They clarified that Nintendo Switch Sports was developed under the codename ‘Elsa’ and for those who don’t know, Anna and Elsa are sisters in the Disney animated film frozen. Meaningful!

A project codenamed ‘SPRed’ also appears to be in development at Nintendo, Midori confirmed that ‘Red’ is Mario’s generic codename, while Super Mario Odyssey was developed under the code name ‘RedStar’. Of course, we doubt anyone will be surprised to hear that Nintendo is working on a new Mario game, but we’ll still gather any potential evidence we can get our hands on.

They also revealed another Nintendo project with a codename ‘Party’clearly indicates that this may be developed by subsidiary NDCube, known for its work on Mario Party franchise, along with a developer named SmileBoom.

Leaving the codename, we know that new information is about Dragon Quest III HD-2D remake potentially imminent from Square Enix after one teased recentlyBut Midori said specifically that it will appear at Nintendo’s upcoming June live showcase (at the time of writing, there is still no confirmed date).

Finally, after revealing one internal icon for Atlus’ unannounced Character 6Midori confirmed in reply that Reload Persona 3Character 6, And The upcoming unannounced Persona remakes are all headed to Nintendo’s next console, currently known as ‘Switch 2’.

Phew! Yes, that’s a lot. As always, we strongly recommend that you approach any potential leak with an appropriate level of skepticism. Midori has proven to be highly reliable, but we all make mistakes, so it’s best to take this information with a grain of salt until proven correct.

Still, it’s interesting stuff, right? We’re especially looking forward to seeing more Persona on Nintendo hardware, so we’re looking forward to seeing Persona 6 on the Switch 2. Hopefully it won’t be too long until Atlus decides to reveal it.
