Update []: The full “complete trailer” for TT Games’ LEGO James Bond game has now been uploaded. It is said to be codenamed “Project Gold” (Thanks, LEGO on X Video Game Museum):

Original story: LEGO video games have mined all sorts of IP over the years, but one project that has never seen the light of day is the James Bond project.

TT Games has at one point been working on its own brick-based spin-off of the 007 franchise, and now footage of the pitch has surfaced online. It shows the famous agent in many iconic scenes facing off against characters like Oddjob and Jaws, driving a variety of vehicles and using all sorts of gadgets.

Ultimately, the LEGO Group didn’t feel the IP was “suitable” as a LEGO game, and the mission to adapt the series to the brick world was over. Although this video was discovered in the data of LEGO sizeThis pitch is clearly for an independent project.

While it seems like 007 missed its chance at a LEGO video game adaptation, LEGO actually released a new game earlier this month in the form of LEGO Horizon Adventure. We give it a 6 out of 10 – calling it a “nice but basic build for the Sony line”.

If you still want your LEGO or James Bond fix, you can always replay Golden Eyes 007 via the Switch Online + Expansion Pack service or check out our LEGO games guide – covering IP like Star Wars, Marvel and even original LEGO games.
