Voice actress Yoko talks about Persona and SMT V

Atlus shares comments from Chiwa Saito, who voices Yoko in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance (SMT V: Vengeance). Previous interviews include those with Lynn And Saori Hayami.

Here’s a translation of what Saito said about her character and the game:

“Yoko is a girl who seems to have been accepted and accepted her situation, but she is going through a lot of anxiety in her own way. I acted out her lines hoping to express her inner thoughts.

I was in one personality games in the past, so I’m happy for them [Atlus] contact me again. Personally, I have a bit of sad memories with personality. My younger brother, six years younger than me, once told me: “Chiwa-chan, you’re so bad you can’t play!” while he was playing personality and didn’t give me the controller, haha.

Humans (angels and demons too) are complex because depending on how you look at a situation, you can see many different circumstances or forms of justice. The story really made me reflect on that. It’s what teaches you the importance of imagining yourself in other people’s shoes and showing concern for them. I hope you like it!”

In addition to voicing Yoko Hiromine in SMT VChiwa Saito also voiced Metis in the film Persona 3 FESSenjougahara in Monogatari series and Homura in Puella Magi Madoka Magica. She also voiced several different characters in Destiny series, where she plays Chloe and all iterations of Tamamo no Mae.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance will go out on June 14, 2024 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC.
