Fly nonstop to the Bahamas from LA and Washington, DC, from just $258
Bahamas is a perennial favorite tropical destination – who doesn’t love white sand beaches and crystal clear blue waters? Luckily, there are currently great discounts on direct flights to Nassau, home to popular resorts like the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar and Atlantisfrom select US cities.
Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, JetBlue and United Airlines are currently offering discounted round-trip flights to the Bahamas from Washington, DC and Los Angeles. However, keep in mind that promotional fares are for summer travel, which coincides with hurricane season. But we also found good prices for flights scheduled for winter, an ideal time to visit the islands.
Discounted fares in this sale are for basic economy tickets. With Alaska and American, carry-on luggage is included, but not with JetBlue and United. A checked bag will cost around $35-$40 each way. In some cases with United, upgrading to an economy ticket can be more cost-effective than paying to check a bag. The upgrade will include carry-on baggage, seat selection and free schedule changes.

Model flight
We found good availability in August for flights from the West Coast on this deal. JetBlue has nonstop fares from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) in Nassau for $366 round-trip. That’s a solid discount for this route.
The best deals we found in Los Angeles were for travel in January. Alaska Airlines has round-trip flights from LAX to NAS for as low as $361. With this ticket, you also get free carry-on baggage, so light packers can save on luggage check-in costs.
January is a great time to take advantage of this deal if you live in Washington, DC American Airlines has direct flights from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) to Nassau for just $268 round-trip.
We found flights with even lower prices in December departing from Dulles International Airport (IAD) on United. The lowest price for this ticket is $258 for a round trip.
There are also good deals from the nation’s capital for a summer getaway to the tropics. United has direct flights from IAD to NAS for $263 round-trip in June and July.
